The Google Camera app has many features that amaze us such as Astrophotography, RAW, Night Sight, Pixel Visual Core, Beauty Mode, PhotoSphere, HDR Enhanced, Top Shot, Playground, Lens Blur, Google Lens, and so on.

Of course, some of Realme’s flagship smartphones already have some of these features, but GCam delivers unbeatable results in almost every area.

These features are capable of improving photo quality especially in dark rooms, thanks to the Night Sight performance, and even in taking photos of the stars in space with the Astrophotography feature.

To that end, if you’re really interested in improving the camera level of a Realme phone, we just need to have a go at using Gcam and a little practice making good use of its features.

See how you can dramatically improve the quality of mobile photography by using Gcam or Google Camera on Realme phones.

GCAM Realme Advantages

As we’ve explained above, Gcam has tons of advanced features to enhance the photography experience with smartphone devices. Here, we will review some of the important features in this Google Camera.

1. Photobooth

With the Photobooth feature we can take photos without pressing the shutter button. Simply display a smiling or laughing face, and the photo will automatically be processed by AI.

2. Astrophotography

Astrophotography mode is an extension of Night Sight mode that uses various techniques to combine multiple shots to capture captivating images in very low light situations.

It is usually used to photograph the starry night sky using a tripod for maximum results.

3. Playground

The Playground feature allows users to express their expressions by taking photos and videos while adding AR animated stickers in various themes, from animal characters to comic characters.

4. RAW

Professional photographers definitely need RAW files, with RAW files it will be easier to edit photos to be much better.

5. Night Sight

The Night Sight feature allows us to take photos in a dark room without a beam of light and the results make the photos look clear.

This feature will shoot multiple images then AI technology will process them to get bright photorecorded details.

Actually there are many more features in Google Camera, we have discussed other features previously in the post how to install Samsung Gcam.

Officially, the Google Camera app is not available for Android users other than Pixel smartphones. However, we can still use the Gcam Mod version.

However, to install it there is a mandatory requirement that the Realme phone must already be active Camera2Api.

How to find out if your Realme phone supports Camera2API

Camera2API is a framework for app developers that allows them to access the camera features we mentioned above.

Check the Camera2API Access Level

Generally, Camera2API consists of four access levels namely Level 3, Full, Limited and Legacy. To find out the access level you can use the Camera2API Probe application from the Play Store.

After that, open the application later on the Camera2 API tab in the Hardware support level section there appears a description of the access level of your Realme phone.

If Legacy is checked, you cannot use Gcam Mod. If it is Level 3 or Full, the features on Gcam can work properly.

While the Limited level some features will not work. You need to enable it so that it can become Level 3 or Full.

Enabling Camera2API

To activate camera2api, your Realme phone must be rooted first. Here’s how:

  1. The first step is to install a File Manager that has root access such as Solid Explorer, ES Xplorer, Root Explorer and so on.
  2. Open the File manager then access the System folder.
  3. Find the build.prop file and open it.
  4. Find the line persist.camera.camera.HAL3.enabled=0 and change it from 0 to 1.
  5. If the line doesn’t exist, just create a new line with: persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1.
  6. Then save and restart your phone.

Or easier and less risky, use Magisk then find the GB Clube module and activate it.

Now you are ready to install the GCam application on Realme Phone.

How to Download GCAM for Realme

Downloading Gcam is easy but it’s hard to find a camera app that works well on our phones. Because this application depends on the specifications and version of Android used.

Here we share three methods to download and install Google Camera Mod, first manually, second through Gcamator and the third with GCam Hub.

Manually

You can choose one of the apps below, if Gcam Mod doesn’t work try using Gcam Go.

Name Download
Gcam Mod MGC_8.1.101_A9_GV1a_ENG.apk
Gcam Go Camera_Go_1.8.3_Wichaya.apk

If these two apps are not to your liking, you can use the following method to get Google Camera compatible with your Realme phone.

Using Gcamator App

  1. Open your Realme phone and install the GCamator app from the Play Store.
  2. Launch the app. If there is a Gcam compatible with your phone, a download link will appear.
  3. Just click on the device name and tap Start Download and then install.
  4. Launch Google Camera and try taking a picture.

If this application cannot find a compatible Gcam, you can tap the Request button.

However, this method certainly has its drawbacks, which is that we cannot choose another version.

Via GCAM HUB

If you want to find a Gcam that really matches your expectations, do it manually by trying one by one. It does take a lot of quota but the results can also be maximized.

  1. Open on the Gcam Hub site then select one of the modders.
  2. After that, please download the latest Gcam and install it on Realme Phone.
  3. Run the app and make sure to give permission if asked.
  4. Now please try taking photos with this Google Camera (Gcam).

This is a guide on how to download Gcam on Realme to get the right fit and most features working.
